A man and woman who are originally from Nigeria have been killed in a crash in Miramichi.
Police say an eastbound half-ton truck and a westbound loaded logging truck collided head-on just before 3 p.m. Tuesday on Route 8.
A 41-year-old woman and 24-year-old man who were in the half-ton truck were pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for over seven hours between the traffic circle and the Anderson Bridge.
Miramichi Police Force, Miramichi Fire, Ambulance NB and the Department of Public Safety were all on the scene to assist after the collision.
Police say both vehicles have been seized for mechanical inspections.
