Traffic stop leads to drug seizure

A Moncton woman has been arrested following a traffic stop in the Hampton area earlier this month.

Mounties said they got a call about a possible impaired driver on Route 1 around 9 a.m. on July 22.

“Officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop,” RCMP said in a news release.

“Open liquor was observed, and during a search of the vehicle, police seized quantities of what is believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, illegal cigarettes, money and drug paraphernalia.”

The 36-year-old woman driving the vehicle was arrested at the scene.

She was released from custody and has a court date in November.
