Man charged after weapons incident in Utopia

One man has been charged after a weapons incident in Charlotte County.

RCMP said they were called to a residence on Route 785 in Utopia around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.

They had received a report that a man armed with a weapon was in front of the home.

“Members attended quickly and arrested the male without incident,” Mounties said in a news release on Friday.

A 35-year-old man from Pennfield appeared in court on Wednesday and was charged with two counts of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace and failing to comply with a judge’s undertaking.

The accused was remanded into custody and is due back in court on Tuesday for a bail hearing.
