Keep those umbrellas handy — there is more rain on the way throughout New Brunswick.
A special weather statement from Environment Canada remains in effect for southern and southeastern regions.
That includes Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex, Grand Lake, Moncton and Kent County.
Forecasters say up to 45 millimetres of rain is expected, though totals could exceed 50 millimetres if thunderstorms move into the region.
“Rainfall rates of up to 20 mm are currently expected in the areas under this statement,” said the weather agency.
Meanwhile, a rainfall warning is now in effect for northern, central and southwestern New Brunswick, including Charlotte County and Fredericton.
Between 50 and 70 millimetres of rain is expected in those areas, except up to 100 millimetres in some northern regions.
The rain is expected to taper to showers from west to east throughout the day on Wednesday.
