RCMP lay first degree murder charge in northern New Brunswick homicide case

The New Brunswick have arrested a Quebec man in connection to a more than two-year-old homicide case.

Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man on Rue Industrielle in Rivière Verte at around 8:40 a.m. on August 15, 2021. They discovered the man was dead and later ruled the death a homicide. The investigation has been ongoing ever since.

Yesterday morning, a suspect was arrested and charged in Rivière-du-Loup. Local RCMP arrested the 44-year-old man, and he appeared in Edmunston Provincial Court today via tele-remand. He faces a charge of first-degree murder and will appear in court again this afternoon.
