Riverview man killed in four vehicle crash

A Riverview man has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash near Havelock.

RCMP says the collision happened on Tuesday night on the Trans Canada Highway in Kinnear Settlement.

At around 7 pm, a westbound truck blew a tire and the driver lost control, crossed over the median and collided with an eastbound vehicle.

The tire then hit the windshield of a third vehicle, causing a separate crash.

The 25-year-old driver of the first impacted vehicle was taken to hospital where he later died.

A second driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the Petitcodiac and Havelock Fire Departments, Ambulance New Brunswick and Department of Transportation and Infrastructure also attended the scene. The truck has been sent for a mechanical inspection.
