Sussex youth charged in connection with incidents

A Sussex teen has been charged with counts of theft and break and enter after a series of incidents in the community.

RCMP say officers responding to a report of a weekend theft in the Mount Middleton area found a 16-year-old youth in possession of stolen cell phones, vehicle keys, and money.

Police also located two previously stolen vehicles in a nearby ditch.

On August 28, the youth appeared in Saint John Provincial Court, and was charged with:

  • Five counts of theft under $5,000
  • Three counts of break and enter into a residence
  • Two counts of theft of a motor vehicle
  • Resisting arrest
  • Trespassing at night

The accused is scheduled to return to court August 31 for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.
