An inmate was taken to the hospital following an assault at Dorchester Penitentiary.
Officials said the incident happened in the medium-security unit last Thursday.
Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) said the inmate was transported to an outside hospital to receive treatment.
“No staff members or other inmates were injured during this incident,” CSC said in a news release on Monday.
Corrections officials continue to investigate the incident.
