3 people arrested in drug trafficking investigation

Saint John police say they have arrested three people as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

Officers executed two separate warrants on Nov. 3 as part of what police call Operation Tangent.

They seized 15 grams of suspected cocaine, 27 cartons of illegal tobacco, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and more than $7,900 in cash.

Police arrested two men, aged 40 and 45, and a 26-year-old woman for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The 40-year-old man was also arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime, while the 26-year-old woman was also arrested for the possession of property obtained by crime.

All three were released on undertakings and are due to appear in court in February.
