2023 Remembrance Day ceremony in Saint John

Saturday at 11 a.m. marked the 105th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Since then, every November 11th has been the day to honour military veterans who’ve fought for our freedom and to remember those who didn’t make it home.

Hundreds gathered inside TD Station for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony.

Many of those in attendance placed wreaths on the memorial statue, including Saint John Mayor Donna Reardon.

“It’s a day where all of us have to reflect and be thankful. You see around the world the conflicts of war everywhere,” said Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long,

“We have to remember, we have to reflect, and we have to never forget the ultimate sacrifice people made for our freedom.”
