A Saint John man is facing charges after officers searched an illegal weed dispensary on the city’s east side.

Justice and Public Safety said officers executed a search warrant on Simpson Drive back on Nov. 1.

Among the items seized during the search of the business included:

  • 2.7 kilograms of dried cannabis
  • 116.3 grams of hashish
  • 141.6 grams of cannabis resin (brick form)
  • About 1,007 grams of extracted resin/oil
  • 362 packages of edible gummies
  • 119 packages of edible food products
  • 175 jars/packs of shatter
  • 43 packages of cannabis distillate vape oil
  • 114 THC vape pens
  • 91 pre-rolled joints
  • about four pounds of homemade gummies

Around $1,200 in cash was also seized from the property, the department said in a news release.

A 47-year-old man was arrested and later released with a court date in January.

Only Cannabis NB and provincially licensed private retail stores are permitted to sell cannabis in the province.
