UPDATE: 4 people arrested after east side weapons complaint

Saint John police say four people have been arrested following a weapons call in an east side neighbourhood.

Police said they received a report of armed individuals entering a residence on Alma Street near Park Avenue.

Officers swarmed the residence and asked residents living in the area to shelter in place as a precaution.

Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, police announced the arrests and said the area had been deemed safe.

“Nearby residents are no longer required to shelter in place. All streets are now open to traffic,” said the update.

No further details have been released.
