Man handed 3-year prison sentence for sexual assault

A 27-year-old Moncton man has been sentenced to three years in prison following a sexual assault in the city.

Mounties say a woman reported being sexually assaulted by a cab driver while on her way home from downtown on May 27, 2021.

Police arrested a suspect in the Moncton area several days later. He was subsequently released to attend court at a later date.

In March 2022, Rohan Singh appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with sexual assault.

Singh was found guilty over the charge in October and was sentenced on Friday.
