Update: Police arrest man on Canada-wide warrant

Saint John police have arrested a 45-year-old man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

A warrant was issued on Jan. 20 for Mark MacKinnon for allegedly breaching the conditions of statutory release.

MacKinnon was residing at a community correctional centre in Saint John.

He was serving a nearly three-year sentence for sexual assault, theft under $5,000, and assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm.

Police said MacKinnon was arrested in Saint John on Sunday and remains in custody.
