Saint John police launch ‘Chief for a Day’ contest

Saint John police are looking for a new chief — but only for one day.

The force has launched its annual “Chief for a Day” contest as part of National Police Week.

It is open to all students from the Saint John area between the ages of five and 12.

You must submit a one-page essay detailing how you have made a difference in someone’s life by offering a hand up when they are down.

“The new chief will have the opportunity to spend the day at Saint John police headquarters and check out some really cool things,” the force said in a news release.

Entries are being accepted until Friday, May 10.
