Police identify 2 people killed in encampment fire

Saint John police have identified the two people found dead following a fire at a tent encampment nearly three weeks ago.

First responders were called to Paradise Row near Somerset Street around 3:40 p.m. on March 25.

“After the fire was extinguished, two individuals were located deceased,” police said in a news release at the time.

On Friday, police identified the two victims as Jonathan Calhoun, 35, and Raeanne Tyler, 33.

Investigators with the Saint John Police Force, Saint John Fire Department, and the Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances that led to their deaths.
