UPDATED: Power restored after transmission outage

NB Power says a broken transmission conductor caused an outage that impacted hundreds of customers in southwestern New Brunswick.

More than 1,000 homes and businesses across several communities were impacted at the peak of the Thursday morning outage.

They included Chance Harbour, Dipper Harbour, Lepreau, Little Lepreau, Maces Bay, Musquash, Pocologan, and Prince of Wales.

As a result, students at Fundy Shores School in Dipper Harbour were sent home early.

Electricity was restored to all customers shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
