A major road heading into the St. George area is expected to be closed for several hours on Monday.
Municipal officials said the contractor completing work on the Riverview Avenue water lines requires an “urgent closure” of both lanes.
Route 770 is closed at the construction site, located between Hillcrest Drive and Lakeside Lane.
No thru traffic is being allowed. Officials said detour signage is in place for motorists.
Residents in Canal, Bonny River, and Second Falls can expect “major traffic impacts” during the closure, which is expected to be in place until later Monday afternoon, said the municipality.
Water services for St. George are not being impacted at this time.
