Saint John residents can place extra garbage at the curb

Good news for Saint John residents who are in the midst of spring cleaning.

Solid waste customers can place two extra bags of waste at the curb for free.

Residents on a weekly pickup schedule can place their extra bags out the week of May 20.

Those with a bi-weekly pickup schedule can do so on their regular pickup day between May 20 and 31.

City officials said those additional garbage bags do not need a bag tag.

Solid waste customers have two opportunities per year to put additional bags of garbage curbside at no cost to them, once during the holiday season and again in the spring.
