Man dies in southwestern N.B. ATV crash

Police say a 52-year-old man has died following an all-terrain vehicle crash in southwestern New Brunswick.

First responders were called to the crash on Route 790 in the Chance Harbour area around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

“The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver of the ATV, travelling southbound, lost control of the vehicle and went off the road, colliding with a telephone pole,” RCMP said in a news release.

Wayne Pollock, chief of the Musquash Fire Department, said someone out for a walk discovered the crash.

According to Pollock, it appears the single-vehicle crash happened several days earlier.

The driver, who was from the nearby community of Lepreau, died at the scene from his injuries.

RCMP said an autopsy will be performed to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
