Lobsters stolen from Dipper Harbour wharf

Hundreds of pounds of lobster have been taken from the Dipper Harbour wharf.

Misty Harbour Seafood said its lobster car was broken into on Sunday night.

Around 800 pounds of lobster was taken, the business said in a social media post.

A lobster car is a slatted container where live lobsters are kept underwater awaiting sale or transport.

RCMP confirmed they are investigating the theft in a news release issued on Wednesday.

“Police are asking the public to be vigilant if you come across someone attempting to sell underpriced lobster, and to report it to police,” RCMP said in the release.

Anyone with information about the theft should reach out to St. George RCMP at 506-755-1130 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
