Human remains found in west Saint John

Saint John police say they are investigating a suspicious death after human remains were found on the city’s west side.

Police said they were called to a wooded area off King William Road shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday.

In a news release Friday, police said the remains have been identified as a 52-year-old man from Saint John.

“The identity of the deceased is not being released to the public at this time,” said the news release.

Investigators are treating the death as suspicious but said there is nothing to suggest the general public is at risk.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with video footage that captures King William Road.
