Man charged with arson in Saint Andrews fire

A 40-year-old man has been charged with arson after a weekend fire in Saint Andrews.

First responders were called to a structure fire on Parr Street at around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Police said the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Officers arrested a person of interest without incident on Saturday.

He appeared in court on Monday and was charged with arson.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court later in August.
