Crash claims life of woman on Acadian Peninsula

A Bathurst woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Allardville.

Chaleur Region RCMP say it happened on Route 160 just before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Investigators believe the SUV crossed the center line and collided head-on with the transport truck.

The 37-year-old SUV driver died at the scene. The truck driver was transported to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Members of the Allardville Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, a police collision reconstructionist, and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s office attended the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman’s exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
