Remembrance Day: What’s open and closed in Greater Saint John

Monday is Remembrance Day and that means many places normally open on a weekday will not be.

Malls, big-box stores and most grocery stores will be closed, including the Saint John City Market.

Some drug stores and smaller grocery stores will be open, although their hours may vary.

NB Liquor and Cannabis NB stores will be closed, but agency liquor outlets will be open.

Banks, post offices and all government offices will also be closed, and there will be no mail delivery.

Saint John Transit buses will not be running. Garbage and compost collection in the city will follow its regular schedule.

Parking will be free all day in the Peel Plaza parking garage, near TD Station.

If you are unsure if something is open, it is best to call ahead.

You can find a list of local Remembrance Day ceremonies on our website.
