UPDATE: Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested

Saint John police say a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.

The 44-year-old was arrested without incident on Friday and remains in custody.

He had been accused of breaching the conditions of his statutory release.

The man was serving a sentence of two years and seven days on a variety of charges, including:

  • one count of assault
  • one count of failure to attend court
  • 14 counts of failure to comply with a probation order
  • one count of obstructing a public/peace officer
  • one count of theft over $5,000
  • 14 counts of theft under $5,000
  • an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act

Police thanked the public for their assistance.
