UPDATE: Boil water advisory lifted in Sussex

Good news for Sussex residents who have been boiling their water for several days.

A boil water advisory that had been in place for the entire town was rescinded Friday afternoon.

Town officials said lab results from two sets of water quality testing have come back satisfactory.

As a result, Public Health advised the town that there is no further need to boil water.

The advisory was issued on Tuesday following a “catastrophic failure” of a watermain.

Residents in Ward 2, the former village of Sussex Corner, were not impacted by the advisory.
