N.B. premier reacts to Trudeau’s resignation

New Brunswick’s premier is reacting to news of Justin Trudeau’s resignation on Monday.

Susan Holt said our country faces new challenges and the serious threat of tariffs.

“We must stand together as a country and remain focused on defending our workers and economy in the face of these threats,” she said in a statement to our newsroom.

Holt also thanked the prime minister for his years of public service and dedication to Canada.

While Trudeau plans to step down as prime minister and Liberal leader, he will stay on until a new leader is selected.

That process is expected to begin in the coming days with the national board slated to meet this week.
