Police seek person of interest in armed robbery

Saint John police are looking to identify a person of interest in an armed robbery investigation.

Officers responded to a lounge on Westmorland Road around 2:20 a.m. last Thursday.

A man with a firearm entered the lounge and tried to get money from the cash register.

“During an altercation between the man and another individual in the bar, the firearm was discharged,” police said in a news release.

No serious physical injuries were reported during the incident, according to investigators.

On Tuesday, police released photos of a woman they are calling a “person of interest” in the investigation.

She has a thin build with long straight hair (a portion of her hair is shaved under her ponytail) and visible tattoos on her neck and hand.

Meanwhile, the suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a white emblem on the chest. He was seen leaving in a dark-coloured four-door sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
