Overnight parking ban for Saint John’s south/central peninsula

Some Saint John drivers who park on the street will need to make other arrangements.

The city has declared an overnight parking ban in the south/central peninsula from 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.

“This means there is no on-street parking allowed anywhere in the South/Central Peninsula area,” the city said in a news release.

Any vehicles left on the street will be ticketed and possibly towed, according to the city.

Three Saint John Parking lots will be cleared for use by on-street parking residents beginning at 6 p.m.

They include lots on Peters Street, Vulcan Street and Sydney Street (Service New Brunswick). A map of those lots can be found on the city’s website.

Vehicles must be removed from all the above parking lots by 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and by noon on weekends and holidays

In addition, the Peel Plaza Parking Garage offers a $5 overnight parking rate from 6 p.m. the night of a ban until 8 a.m. the next day.

Temporary parking bans allow plow crews to push snow back to the curb or remove snow in its entirety on all streets to maintain access through all streets.

This provides maximum street width for the purpose of safe vehicular travel and storage for subsequent snowstorm events.
