School closures in N.B. due to poor road conditions

Students across New Brunswick might have another snow day as rough winter weather has led to several school closures in multiple districts.

The Anglophone East School District has announced closures for all schools on Tuesday.

Francophone South schools in Baie-Sainte-Anne, Bouctouche, Cap-Pele, Cocagne, Dieppe, Grand-Barachois, Grande-Digue, Memramcook, Miramichi, Moncton, Notre-Dame, Richibucto, Rogersville, Saint-Antoine, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Saint-Louis-de-Kent, and Shediac are also closed.

However, Francophone South schools in Saint John, Quispamsis, Fredericton and Oromocto remain open, along with Anglophone South schools. There are some school bus delays due to the poor road conditions.

Road conditions

Roads across the province are far from ideal, with high winds continuing to cause whiteout conditions in certain areas.

The colder temperatures have resulted in icy patches beneath the snow, making travel hazardous.

Those who need to venture out this morning are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to proceed with caution.

Sidewalks are also dangerous, with ice and snow creating treacherous walking conditions.
