Coldest Night of the Year another huge success

A weekend walk helped to raise money for those experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.

Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) took place Saturday night more than 200 different locations across Canada.

In Saint John, the 2K and 5K walk raised more than $81,000 in total, according to CNOY’s website.

That money will go to support Outflow, a local charity dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness.

A separate walk in Sussex saw more than $38,000 raised for the Sussex Sharing Club.

Founded in 1986, the food bank and thrift store serves Sussex and surrounding communities.

Organizers say more than $14.1 million was raised from coast to coast.
