Spring may have officially arrived last week, but you will want to keep your shovel and snow brush handy.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for south-central areas of New Brunswick, including:
- Fredericton and southern York County
- Grand Lake and Queens County
- Kent County
- Kouchibouguac National Park
- Miramichi and area
- Oromocto and Sunbury County
- St. Stephen and northern Charlotte County
- Stanley – Doaktown – Blackville area
Forecasters said around 15 centimetres of snow is expected beginning Monday afternoon and ending early Tuesday morning.
“Brief snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour are possible over some areas,” the weather agency said in the warning.
Meanwhile, the rest of southern New Brunswick is under a special weather statement, including Moncton and southeastern New Brunswick, Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex, and coastal Charlotte County.
Up to 15 centimetres of snow is possible and will be mixed with ice pellets near the Fundy coast. There is also a risk of freezing rain.
