UPD: Power restored after Saturday outage in southern N.B.

Power has now been restored for residents and businesses in Sussex and surrounding areas.

The lights came back on at around 8:30 Saturday night. At the height of the outage, there were over 6500 customers without electricity, with the majority in Kings and Queens Counties.

The outage was first reported shortly after noon, so the power was out for most of the day for many.

There’s no word on what caused the outage.
