UPDATE: Police operation ends in west Saint John

A police operation on Saint John’s west side has come to an end.

The operation on Clover Court began sometime before 3:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Police were telling residents in the area to shelter in place until further notice .

In an update at 5:45 p.m., police said the operation was over and the area is now open.

“Police continue to investigate,” said the social media post from the Saint John Police Force.

No other details have been released by police at this time.

It is unknown whether the operation was linked to the fatal uptown shooting earlier in the day.
