N.B. liquor, weed stores report Q4 drop in net profits

NB Liquor and Cannabis NB profits were down to wrap up the 2024-25 fiscal year.

That is despite both Crown corporations reporting a year-over-year increase in sales.

NB Liquor saw nearly $107 million in product sales during the fourth quarter, up 0.2 per cent.

Sales of beer, coolers and cider increased, while spirit and wine sales were down.

Despite the increase, the corporation’s net income fell 15 per cent to $30.4 million.

Meanwhile, Cannabis NB recorded $24 million in total sales, a year-over-year increase of 5.2 per cent.

But the Crown corporation’s net income dropped four-and-a-half per cent to $4.7 million.

Sales of dried flower, edibles, infused beverages, topicals and concentrates were up, while sales of extracts and accessories were down.
