3 arrested in copper wire theft investigation near Oromocto

Three people have been arrested in connection with copper wire theft in the Oromocto area.

RCMP received a tip on May 16 that someone was operating an ATV loaded with copper wire in Geary.

Officers went to a home on Broad Road, where they arrested two men and a 17-year-old boy. The teen was later released from custody.

They later executed a search warrant and seized 330 feet of high-grade copper wire, a stolen trailer and a stolen military kit.

A 45-year-old man and a 28-year-old man have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both have been released from custody pending a future court appearance.
