2 men charged with 2nd-degree murder in N.B.

Two men have been charged in connection with a homicide in Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska.

Just before noon on Friday, RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon involving three men at a business on 2nd Sault Road.

They located a seriously injured 29-year-old man outside of the business.

Police say he died at the scene.

Early on Saturday, a 37-year-old Edmundston man was arrested in Saint-Léonard without incident.

A 36-year-old man from Saint-Jacques was later arrested by the Edmundston Police Force.

The two accused appeared in Edmundston Provincial Court by way of tele-remand.

Both are charged with second-degree murder and have been remanded into custody. They’re scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
