Maces Bay home extensively damaged by fire

One person was rescued from a burning home in the Welch Cove Road area in Maces Bay.

A member of the Musquash Fire Department, who was nearby, arrived on the scene just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

They were able to get inside the home and safely get the homeowner out.

The residence was engulfed when other members of the fire department arrived.

Thirty-five loads of water were shuttled to the scene, and a drone was used to ensure all of the hot spots were out.

Firefighters were there for several hours. The home is a total loss.

The cause of the blaze is still being determined.

Ambulance New Brunswick and the RCMP also assisted.
