One man has been sentenced and another charged in connection with a Saint John drug trafficking investigation.
Police received information in June, and the probe began.
Four searches were conducted on August 20, and six people were arrested.
Two men, who are 51 and 47 years old, appeared in court.
One pleaded guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking and was sentenced to five and a half years in custody.
The other is facing several charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking. He’ll return to court at a later date.
Over $60,000 worth of drugs and weapons were seized, including:
- Cocaine – 299.82 grams (street value $29,982)
- Crack cocaine – 301 grams (street value $30,100)
- Oxycodone 5 mgs – 33 pills ($330)
- Cutting Agent – 119 grams
- Cash – $55, 163
- Cross bow with three arrows
- Bear spray
- 3 imitation firearms
- Asp baton
- 625 x 22 cal ammunition
The Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) currently consists of officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety.
