Fuel prices expected to rise in N.B.

Expect to see some increases at the fuel pumps this week in New Brunswick, according to an industry source.

The maximum price for regular self-serve is expected to rise by around 2.5 cents per litre on Thursday night.

Diesel prices are also expected to increase, with the maximum price set to go up by more than one cent per litre.

Maximum prices currently range from $1.47 per litre for regular self-serve to $1.52 for diesel, but most stations are selling for a few cents less.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.44 to $1.48 per litre while diesel is selling for between $1.45 and $1.49 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.49 per litre, diesel costs around $1.55 per litre and home heating oil is selling for a maximum of $1.14 per litre.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
