Furnace oil hardest hit by fuel price increases in N.B.

Fuel prices are up this week as expected.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board received approvals last week to increase the maximum retail margin and delivery cost.

Prices were also affected by weekly adjustments.

Furnace oil was hit the hardest, up 10.6 cents a litre to a maximum of $1.55.

Diesel rose 3.5 cents to $1.58.

The maximum for regular self-serve rose 3 cents a litre to around $1.52.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.44 to $1.49 per litre, while diesel is selling for between $1.51 and $1.55 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.54 per litre, diesel costs around $1.58 per litre, and home heating oil is selling for a maximum of $1.18 per litre.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
