2 men arrested after alleged break and enter in Saint John

Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged break and enter in Saint John’s south end.

Saint John police said officers responded to a call about a possible break-in at a building under construction in the 19-block of Harding Street around 4:20 a.m. on Monday.

Two men were reportedly seen trying to enter the site. Police say a 33-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were found inside the building and taken into custody without incident.

Authorities said that both men have been charged with break and enter and possession of break-in instruments.

They remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday for a bail hearing.
