Fire under control on Sand Cove Road in Saint John

Firefighters say no one was hurt after a house fire on Saint John’s west side late Friday morning.

The Saint John Firefighters Association said crews were called shortly before 11 a.m. to a home on Sand Cove Road in a social media post.

The association said the first crew on scene found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the house.

Firefighters said they were able to bring the fire under control soon after arriving.

Crews later removed the deck to make sure the fire was fully out and wouldn’t flare up again.

The firefighters’ association said no injuries were reported.

No other information has been released about what caused the fire.
