Fuel prices expected to take a ‘spooky’ jump in N.B.

New Brunswick drivers are in for a fright at the pumps this Halloween, according to an industry source.

Regular self-serve gasoline is expected to creep up by about three cents per litre, and diesel is facing the scariest jump with a spike of nearly ten cents per litre Thursday night.

Maximum prices currently range from $1.48 per litre for regular self-serve to $1.69 for diesel, but most stations are selling for a few cents less.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.35 to $1.40 per litre, while diesel is selling for between $1.64 and $1.68 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.43 per litre, diesel costs around $1.59 per litre, and home heating oil is selling for a maximum of $1.16 per litre.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
