Saint John rings in the Christmas season

A big turnout for the 72nd annual Santa Claus parade in Saint John.

A record 60 entries were included in this year’s event that helped to officially ring in the Christmas season.

Winners were once again for floats and live performances.

The parade winners are:
  • Best Band: 9 Rodney Royal Canadian Sea Cadets
  • Best Large Commercial: East Point Shopping
  • Best Small Commercial Crosbys
  • Best Community: Key Industries
  • Best Theme: JD Irving /NB Southern
  • Judges Choice: Saint John Energy
  • Best In Parade: 161 Air Cadets / YSJ Air Show
  • Best Large Non-Commercial : Hoyts Moving & Storage
  • Best Small Non-Commercial: Saint John Correctional
  • Best School: NBCC
  • Best live music or cheer: Harbour View both entries
  • Parade Marshal choice: Sure-Fit / Down East Power Sports
  • Best industrial: OSCO Construction Group

The Kennebecasis Valley parade is scheduled for November 29th at 6 pm, with a storm date on the 30th.
