Ann Electa Burgess

August 7, 1943  –  November 30, 2025

It is with great sadness that Flo and I (Peter) announce the passing of Ann Electa (Sullivan) Burgess on November 30, 2025 at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home. Mom suffered from a 10 year battle with dementia. Born in McGivney, NB, on August 7, 1943, she was 82.

Ann was a stay at home wife and mother of three boys. She loved to cook, and was she ever good at it! She had beautiful gardens and loved listening to Alan Jackson. Mom never got over the death of her husband David who passed away on November 3, 1997.

She is survived by two sons, Donald (Teresa) Burgess and Peter (Flo) Burgess; four sisters: Carol Mcdonald of Minto, NB, Alma Boone of McGivney, NB, Joan Sullivan of Saint John, NB, and Candy (Philip) Boyle of Innisfil, AB; two brothers, Charles Sullivan of Minto and Lester Sullivan of McGivney; four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Darlene Burgess; and special sister-in-law, Bonny (Willard) Crawford.

She was predeceased by her husband, David Burgess; one son, Wayne; birth mother, Bessie Sullivan; step-mother, Lillian Sullivan; two sisters, Pearl Comeau and Cathy White; two brothers, Lloyd Rafuse and Hedley Sullivan.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Following Mom’s wishes, there will be no service, only a burial at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
