A woman and four men have now been charged in connection with a murder in Dieppe in 2019.
Seventy-eight-year-old Bernard Saulnier and 74-year-old Rose-Marie Saulnier were found dead in their homes on Amirault Street in September 2019. Their deaths were ruled a homicide, and a man arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder is expected to stand trial in 2026.
An RCMP investigation has revealed that five others had conspired to kill Sylvio Saulnier, who is the son of the couple. He died in 2023.
Charges of conspiracy to commit murder have now been laid against those individuals.
They’ll appear in Moncton provincial court on December 1.
“While the initial first-degree murder charges marked a significant step forward in this investigation, our work did not end there,” Corporal Matthew Leblanc-Smith of the New Brunswick RCMP stated in a news release. “This has been a complex and far-reaching investigation, and our members have remained committed to uncovering every piece of the truth. We will continue to pursue justice for the victims and their family.”
