ASD-S Bus Accident With Kids On Board

Only a few minor injuries after a school bus accident in St. George.

Cpl. Jayson Hansen with the West District RCMP tells Acadia News around 8am, on Wednesday, November 28th, an Anglophone South School District school bus slid into the right side of the ditch.

Cpl. Hansen says the accident happened on South Street, and that particular section is a sharp “S” curve.

He says the roads were extremely icy and treacherous at the time of the accident, in fact, another vehicle coming up to the school bus ended up sliding in the ditch on the opposite side of the road.

Police say the driver of the bus and three children were taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

Cpl. Hansen says their injuries were minor and non-life threatening.

West District RCMP, St. George Fire, and the Department of Transportation were all on site.
