Plenty Of Rain To Hit The Province

If you have any Christmas presents hidden in your basement, you might want to get them out of there before tomorrow or at least get them off the floor.

Environment Canada says a major storm is headed our way and it has the potential to dump a lot of rain.

The system is forming over the Gulf Of Mexico and Meteorologist Roberta McArthur says that means warm temperatures and heavy rain.

“We are expecting rain primarily for the Saint John area beginning around noon Friday, that will be persisting into Saturday evening. During that time frame, we are looking at potentially up to 50 mm of rain” stated McArthur.

Now all the rain will most likely mean all of our snow will be gone too. As for the chances of a White Christmas?

McArthur says ” We might have a system skirt just south of New Brunswick on Christmas Eve, we are looking at cool conditions, but not seeing any precipitation.”

So put away the snow shovel for a couple of days and keep an umbrella and raincoat handy.
